There was recently an interesting item in the New York Times about the rapid increase of digital textbooks.
It comes as no surprise that the price of e-textbooks is very attractive in comparison to regular printed editions. And because they’re electronic, they can be “rented” — that is to day, used for specific periods before expiring.
Amazingly, the article quotes a study that found the use of e-textbooks has grown a whopping 100% over the past year, with more growth in store.
No doubt the growth in tablet computers like the iPad will give this trend a boost …
